Colleagues from the leading US industry medium “Aviation Week and Space Technology” (AW&ST) have today published a lengthy analysis according to which the RQ-180 stealth reconnaissance drone from Northrop-Grumman, first discussed in 2013 as the “Black Project”, has been in an operational test unit for global ISR (intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance) at Beale AFB in California (the logical manned predecessors SR-71 were and the U-2R are still in service there) since at least this year.
As expected, the USAF says nothing about this, but the many clues gathered by author Guy Norris’ research speak for the reality of the B-2-like aircraft, which has not yet been officially “confirmed”.
