Robert Artwohl is Managing Director of Zero Compromise Optic. Militär Aktuell spoke to him about the unique selling points of his company, the secret behind the high-quality target optics and his other goals for the future.
Mr. Artwohl, what distinguishes your company Zero Compromise Optic?
We develop our riflescopes in Austria together with our experts from the USA. The riflescopes are manufactured in Austria without exception and are partially assembled here for the American market. This also applies to individual components, despite all the disadvantages in terms of production costs. This is the only way we have achieved quality leadership in our first year of existence. With the production of assemblies and accessories in-house, we also offer customers a comprehensive range of services that is particularly appreciated in the public sector. We also develop special solutions for riflescopes. Due to our size and flexibility, we are very fast.
What makes ZCO riflescopes so special?
The essential basis for high-quality riflescopes is the optics calculation, i.e. the choice of suitable lenses, starting with the radii, coatings and suppliers. We have received feedback more than once that it is probably the most well-balanced optics calculation that has ever been installed in a riflescope. The mechanical reliability, click accuracy, resilience, user-friendly feel and practical design are also highly valued.

What specific goals are you currently pursuing?
We not only aim to develop and build the highest quality riflescopes in the world. We have also made it our goal to offer the best service on the market. Regardless of whether the fault is on our side or on the shooter’s side, we endeavor to get the tested or repaired riflescope back to the shooter as quickly as possible. In Europe this is often achieved within a week, overseas within two weeks. Such a rapid response time is also often required by the authorities. The name Zero Compromise Optic ultimately stands for our vision and strategy.
