Twice a year, the helicopter pilots of the Austrian Armed Forces to the pinnacle of aviation, the high mountains. Militär Aktuell spent a day at the high mountain landing course in Aigen im Ennstal at the Fiala-Fernbrugg airbase.
For the fourth episode of “Militär Aktuell – Der Podcast”, reporter Stefan Tesch spoke to some of the pilots and accompanied the crews with the microphone during their preparations. The highlight is the flight with the new Leonardo AW169 (-> Two more AW169s landed in Austria) over the Tote Gebirge, including a recording of the communication between the pilot, co-pilot and on-board technician.
