Carinthia recently presented pants made with the completely new Range Extender RE1 technology. At the IWA Outdoor Classics 2025, we had the special features of the new fabric and products explained to us in detail at the Carinthia stand.

At the IWA Outdoor Classics 2025 Carinthia once again emphasized the strengths of the company: In-house expertise in terms of development and production. Three years of development went into the new fabric, which Carinthia manufactures itself.

Special feature Range Extender RE1

The goal that Carinthia’s Innovation Lab set itself was ambitious, as we learned in conversation with Carinthia at the IWA 2025: The aim was to develop a flexible fabric that is breathable, very robust and at the same time light and comfortable. The result is the development of RE1 technology, which led to a four-way stretch. The new fabric withstands extreme stress tests, is washable at 95° degrees and can withstand hot spin-dry cycles. According to Carinthia, the fabric retains its shape and function and thus contributes to greater sustainability, which is a particularly important issue in the outdoor industry due to the nature of production.

When felt on site, the fabric looks like a light and soft canvas that is very quiet when rubbed. You wouldn’t expect it to withstand endurance tests on rocks and in other harsh environments so easily.

New pants

Three new pants, all in a simple, stylish yet functional design, are manufactured using the new RE1 technology in three colorways. The Goldeck Pants have practical leg pockets, an integrated belt in a color-coordinated camo design and a soft G-Loft lining underneath – at the waistband.

Except for the leg length, the Goldeck Shorts are comparable to the Goldeck Pants and look good in warm climates.

Anyone who is “on the hunt” for beautiful moments in the great outdoors will be delighted with the new Goldeck Hunt Pants. These pants also come with all the advantages of the new RE1 fabric. The low-noise fabric is complemented by a number of special features, including an adjustable waistband with G-Loft lining, an elasticated hip area and knife pockets reinforced with Cordura fabric. Carinthia’s tactical-military experience is evident in the leg pockets. These can also be opened from the front, which is practical in the vehicle or when hunting.

In addition to the Range Extender RE1 innovations, there is also something new in the Loftshell range introduced last year (-> Carinthia presents loftshell technology). The Loftshell Hydro Pants are low-noise and water-repellent at the same time. Equipped with a G-Loft lining, they are also highly breathable. Leg pockets and an adjustable waistband are practical additions to these pants. The Loftshell Hydro Pants are available in black and olive.

Overall, the new line from Carinthia shines with a simple but practical design and sophisticated technology throughout the manufacturing process. The new fabric is extremely quiet and feels very comfortable. Ranger Magazine (made by Militär Aktuell) will report on this as soon as the opportunity for wear tests arises.
