Is slingbag or crossbag the right term? It doesn’t matter. The important thing is that the bag slung over the shoulder can hold as many things as possible in everyday life without weighing too much or having too much of an impact on handling. The renowned US clothing and equipment manufacturer 5.11 has solved this – quite difficult – balancing act particularly well with its LV10.
According to the manufacturer, the bag can hold up to 13 liters and in fact, a tablet, notepad, pen, cell phone charging cable, book and water bottle can all be stowed inside without bulging the robust 840D nylon cover too much. Thanks to the wide shoulder strap and the side fastening strap, the sling bag sits comfortably on the back even when full. The carrying handles on three sides and the layout with a total of four compartments are practical, whereby the top compartment is lined with soft fleece on the inside and is therefore particularly suitable for sunglasses or other sensitive items.
The main compartment is divided into a padded compartment for a tablet or a small notebook (unfortunately there is no room for laptops from 15 inches) and a larger area for the rest of the equipment. Slots for small items such as pens and knives ensure that nothing gets mixed up, while compression straps on three sides ensure that the bag can be securely fastened even with little content. All in all, the LV10 has no major weaknesses, but many strengths, making it a practical companion for everyday life and outdoor adventures.
