The Israeli companies IWI and Meprolight presented their product lines and innovations at the SK Group’s joint stand at Enforce Tac 2025. As a media partner of the major trade fair for public authorities, we were shown some of the group’s highlights.

The SK Group comprises companies such as Israel Weapon Industries (IWI), Meprolight and Camero. The program presented at Enforce Tac 2025 was correspondingly extensive and coordinated (-> Click here for the trade fair podcast from Militär Aktuell).

IWI: Stronger and lighter

As a key weapons supplier to the Israel Defence Forces (IDF), IWI not only manufactures the world-famous Uzi, which has been an iconic submachine gun since the 1950s and which was reintroduced to the market over ten years ago in the modernized version as the Uzi Pro in three barrel lengths and with a folding stock and optional silencer. IWI also equips the IDF with the different variants of the X95, which is available in the compact bullpup design in the calibers 5.56×45, 5.45×39, 300 BLK and as a Sub Machine Gun (SMG) also in the caliber 9×19. The GL 40 grenade launcher (caliber 40×46), which can be tilted to the side, can also be added.

IWI also added to the handgun range with the Masada pistol family in 9×19 caliber. This includes the Masada in the standard frame, a narrow S model and two ORP models, which are available with mounting points for red dot sights and – in the ORP-T version – also with a barrel thread.

There are now innovations in the field of assault rifles and Designated Marksman Rifles (DMR) for medium and long ranges. The basis for the new developments is the Arad rifle family with short-stroke piston system, easily exchangeable interchangeable barrels in 5.56×45 and 300 BLK calibers and ambidextrous operation. The new Arad 7 follows this concept. As a semi-automatic or fully automatic rifle, it is available in the calibers 7.62×51 and 6.5 CM in three barrel lengths (13″, 14″ and 16″ inch).

In line with the modular concept of modern AR systems, all parts are interchangeable and extensions can be fitted via M-LOK rails. IWI has given the new multi-caliber rifle a “Sub MOA accuracy”, i.e. an inherent accuracy that should allow a hit group of less than 25 millimetres at a distance of 100 yards (approx. 91.4 meters).

The second innovation concerns the light machine guns in the Negev series. The Negev NG-5 LMG (caliber 5.56×45) and NG-7 LMG (caliber 7.62×51) now have lightweight support in the powerful 7.62×51 caliber in the form of the Negev 7 ULMG.

The ULMG was developed from the Next Generation Squad Automatif Rifle program (NGSAR) together with the IDF. Depending on the model, the ULMG weighs over a kilo less than the NG-7 LMG in the same caliber. The ULMG weighs just under seven kilos, but offers M-LOK mounts and Picatinny rails, tritium sights and two firing modes, semi-automatic and fully automatic.

Meprolight: Far away very close

In conversation on site, we learn that Meprolight initially concentrated on the production of sights and red dots for pistols. Over the years, special solutions have been added, particularly for long guns of official customers who want to be equipped with optics, lasers and thermal imaging cameras.

A highlight in the large product range is the Mepro O2C, which allows switching between two different red dot sights (2/65 MOA speed ring or 2 MOA red dot). The brightness can be set automatically or manually, with a choice of 16 light intensities. The mil-spec Red Dot has an energy-saving mode and a “shake-wake” mode.

There is something new with the riflescopes. The Israeli company exhibited three models at Enforce Tac 2025: The MVO 1-8×28 as LPVO for close and medium distances, the MVO 3-8×44 as MPVO and the MVO 6-36×56 for long distances. All three riflescopes have a tube diameter of 34 millimetres, the reticle on the first image plane and a large selector lever for quick adjustment of the magnification.
