A few days ago, an important step was taken for the German F126 project in Hengelo, the Netherlands. The German Navy, the BAAINBw (Federal Office for Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support of the Bundeswehr), Thales and other F126 project partners such as Damen Naval inaugurated the “extended Thales test center”, a facility for system testing and integration specifically designed for the project. Here, the project partners and the BAAINBw will work together with the German Navy on the project.

Last year, Thales already doubled its local production capacity in the Netherlands by expanding its own test and integration facilities. As part of the project, the expanded Thales test center will now act as a hub for collaboration between various project partners. System testing and integration will also take place there. The building is equipped with several test stations for the sensors and other hardware of the ships. The integration of the mission system into the Combat Management System TACTICOS will also be validated here. https://militaeraktuell.at/so-einfach-und-intuitiv-wie-moeglich/ “With today’s inauguration of the expanded Thales test center, we have reached a major milestone in the F126 project. Together we have created a collaborative environment that enables our colleagues, partners and customers to work together on the innovative solutions for the F126 frigates,” said Dirk Jan de Bruijn, VP Above Water Systems Thales. The development and construction of the building was the result of collaboration between the project partners. In addition to Thales and Damen Naval, the German Navy, BAAINBw and Dura Vermeer were also involved in the development process. The opening took place in the presence of a broad representation of the German Navy and the BAAINBw by Flotilla Admiral Andreas Czerwinski, Rear Admiral Christoph Müller-Meinhard and Captain Matthias Michael Potthoff.
