Following the opening of the new runway and the new airfield radar at Brumowski Air Base in Langenlebarn Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner handed over a new NBC simulation system to the NBC Defense Center at the Dabsch barracks in Korneuburg.

The Argon system is a training tool with which it is possible to simulate releases of radiological and chemical hazardous substances on both a small and large scale, without the use of simulation substances that are hazardous to the environment or health. The new NBC simulation system can be used to train NBC defense soldiers realistically and efficiently in scenarios involving radiological or nuclear releases, such as after a terrorist attack (“dirty bomb”), nuclear power plant accident or the use of nuclear weapons, as well as after the release of chemical warfare agents and toxic industrial chemicals, such as after an attack or terrorist attack involving chemical warfare agents or after industrial or laboratory accidents.
