Direct Action 2025 builds on the strong program of previous years and this year focuses on improving existing products. However, this year will not be without new developments. Here is an overview of the highlights from the Polish manufacturer.
Direct Action are bringing some new products to the market in 2025. At the Enforce Tac (-> Read more about the government trade fair in the Militär Aktuell podcast on Enforce Tac 2025) we were introduced to the latest products.
Plate carrier and belt
The biggest innovation concerns Direct Action’s long-seller: the MK II version of the Spitfire plate carrier comes in a slim and variable design. The idea, we learn in conversation at the Direct Action stand, is that users should be able to design the Spitfire MK II according to their own wishes right from the start.
Compared to the predecessor model, the basic version in the MK II comes without a front flap, but has even more Velcro surface on the front. The wide, modular cummerbund of its predecessor has been replaced by an elastic and lightweight model. The back has also been slimmed down: there are no PALS attachment loops as standard, but maximum modularity so that you can install only the pockets you really need. Practical: The individual flaps for the Spitfire MK II now also come with quick release fasteners (QR), while the back panels are attached with a zipper. There are also some new pouches in the Direct Action range.
Weighing just 430 grams in total, the MK II version is over 200 grams lighter than its predecessor. However, the emphasis is still on high wearing comfort. In the new version, the inside of the plate carrier is also lined with soft fabric and padded.
A ballistic set matching the Spitfire plate carrier is also available to order for government customers. This includes easily removable ballistic protection for the neck, shoulders, front and back. An additional combination is available together with the mosquito belt, which can be fitted with protection for the groin area.
The Mosquito Modular Belt Sleeve is an all-rounder. With countless PALS laser-cut loops, the outer belt can carry just about anything. You can choose from five sizes. Additional PALS rows provide further panels that are attached to the belt (Hip Panel Small and Large), leg holsters are attached to the Drop Leg Panel MK II. If the weight to be carried is higher, the lightweight Y-Harness or the H-Harness, which was developed with wider straps with a focus on reconnaissance missions, are used. This gives you everything you need in the field.
It’s even easier with the Firefly Low Vis Belt Sleeve MK II. The lightweight and very soft outer belt in the new MK II version scores points, especially in the undercover area or when a long stay in vehicles is planned. The inner belts are simply fed through the slots and an OWB holster can also be fitted. The lightweight (236 grams) will be available in four sizes.
Backpacks
There are also some special features in the backpack range. For minimalists, there is a nimble all-rounder: at 675 grams and a capacity of 21.8 liters, the Minimalist Backpack will please both service and civilian users. A helmet fits under an easily stowable flap, three AR or two larger magazines for .308 caliber fit in the side pockets, which have a zipper.
Inside there is a tidy storage space and a separate compartment for the water bladder. A reinforcement plate is inserted in the back for stabilization. If you take it out, the rucksack can be rolled up to its minimum size in no time at all.
The exact opposite in shape and size is the Liberator Roll Bag, which has a capacity of 176.6 liters at just under eleven kilograms. The transport case has enough space for a long gun (Direct Action specifies a maximum barrel length of 16 inches) and equipment such as a helmet, plate carrier and similar items. The insides are padded. As a “mobile cabinet”, the Liberator is also an improvised storage space for on the go.
Although only available to order, the modular Mortar Backpack is no less exciting. Equipped with several loops for up to ten 60 millimeter grenades, the straightforward backpack with interior divider can also be used as a medic backpack and especially as a drone backpack.
Clothing
Direct Action 2025 is also stepping up its game when it comes to clothing. The Vanguard Field Shirt has everything a good field shirt needs: Lots of pockets, a robust finish and reinforced elbow elements. In addition, the Vanguard Field Shirt is made from soft and lightweight NyCo fabric, underarm ventilation and the option of using the front pockets for additional ventilation.

The Vanguard Softshell Combat Shirt from Direct Action has similarly sophisticated details. Designed for mobility and a certain degree of protection from the elements, the softshell jacket also has ventilation options under the armpits and a hood under which a helmet fits easily. When rolled up, the 419 gram jacket doesn’t take up much space.

The Vanguard Field Hat is the first boonie from Direct Action. In addition to all the features that a hat should have in a tactical environment – loops for attaching camouflage, Velcro surfaces for IR markers – the Vanguard Field Hat also has mesh inserts for better ventilation and a sewn-in, very soft sweatband. There is also a hidden side pocket on the inside.
Strong signal
The little bonus at the end – and for emergencies: The VS-17 Signal Panel fits on pretty much every item of equipment and trouser pocket. With a multicam camouflage pattern on one side, it provides an additional layer of insulation or camouflage. The bright orange on the other side has a signaling effect.
