A few days ago, around 150 recruits from the Theresian Military Academy, the Lower Austrian Military Command, the Air Force and Anti-Aircraft Troop School and the Army Troop School for the November enlistment date were sworn in at the town hall square in the municipality of Ternitz. The young men took their “oath of allegiance” and pledged to defend their homeland, the Republic of Austria, with their weapons in an emergency.

Despite the frosty temperatures, many relatives and friends of the soldiers being inducted came from near and far to attend this military ceremony. Numerous political mandataries at federal, provincial and municipal level and representatives of the operational organizations marked this event with their participation. The military music of the Guard from Vienna contributed to the special atmosphere and musical accompaniment. After the basic conscripts had taken the oath of allegiance, the military music played the “Great Austrian Tattoo” as an acoustic highlight. Around 50 cadets from the Federal Commercial Academy for Leadership and Security used torches to create a mystical atmosphere when this traditional piece of music was played. https://militaeraktuell.at/russische-hind-landen-ueber-zypern-in-serbien/ Following the ceremony, the recruits and their families met in the beautifully designed town square of the municipality of Ternitz. Here, all visitors were invited by the municipality to enjoy a taste from the goulash cannon. Local restaurateurs spoiled the guests with warm drinks. The town square, already decorated for Christmas, with its many punch huts, offered a wintery Advent ambience and the ideal setting for a pleasant and atmospheric end to the event.
