Eratac will soon be providing a quick-to-install trigger for all common AR systems. Even before its release, Militär Aktuell’s Ranger magazine had the opportunity to test the new trigger. As announced in Ranger #1, here is our test report.
Already at the Enforce Tac and the IWA 2024 presented and extensively tested on the superstructures by the numerous visitors there, the new product from Eratac caused quite a stir. We were therefore all the more pleased to receive a copy to test for live firing.
Crisp profile
First of all, something that will really please all AR users: According to Eratac, the trigger fits into all common AR systems. Also pleasing: the trigger is a drop-in trigger, which allows for quick installation. The trigger comes as a self-contained system; there are no loose parts that need to be installed “somehow”.
From then on, however, individualism begins to take hold – fortunately! The trigger is supplied with either a curved or straight trigger blade. The trigger weight can also be adjusted to suit individual requirements: 1,000 and 1,500 grams are possible. This low weight makes (dynamic) sports and precision shooters particularly happy.
The high-quality tool for adjusting the trigger weight is supplied in a practical – and reusable – Cordura bag. The operating instructions can be accessed via a QR code on the trigger itself.
Practical test
At the shooting range, the trigger showed itself from its best side. The single stage trigger is clearly defined and falls dry. Single precision shots are just as enjoyable as faster series. The very short reset is just as clean and clear.
The trigger weight changeover is also practical. This is done smoothly, as only the system needs to be opened. The adjustment is then made with the pin supplied. The adjustment screw is very easy to reach.
Ultimately, we had no safety concerns because the mounting screws are protected from falling out by an integrated thread lock and the installation is so straightforward and simple that we simply couldn’t find any way to install the trigger incorrectly.
Delivery of the Eratac trigger for AR systems can be expected shortly. A combined 90°/45° safety shaft will then also be available as an option.
