The Tyrolean vehicle body builder Empl has invested in its “technology forge” in Uderns: The preservation hall at the site has been extended by around two million euros. A state-of-the-art extraction system ensures an improved working environment and contributes to increased efficiency, which significantly shortens throughput times.
In addition to the expansion of the conservation hall, according to a recent press release from the company (-> Empl: Built on the chassis of the truck), the outdoor area was also drained and asphalted, further improving the infrastructure and logistics on site. The project was planned and implemented by the office of architect Johann Sailer from Vomp. https://militaeraktuell.at/oesterreich-qualitaet-herbert-empl-im-interview/ Construction work on the shell, which began in November 2023, was completed in April 2024 by the company Ing. A total of 650 cubic meters of concrete and 66 tons of reinforcing steel were used. “With this investment, we are also creating new jobs at the Uderns site,” says Empl. “Seven additional employees are strengthening our team. The new hall has been in full operation since September 2024.” From the Austrian company’s perspective, the expansion of the conservation hall is “another important milestone”. It will enable us to increase productivity and offer our customers high-quality solutions even faster and more reliably. In addition, the investment was justified by the long-term high order backlog and was necessary in order to meet the planned delivery dates.”
