Rheinmetall has received an order from the German government to supply around 100,000 rounds of 120-millimeter mortar ammunition to Ukraine. This is part of the latest 400 million euro support package for the Ukrainian armed forces. Rheinmetall will receive a low three-digit million euro sum for the order. Delivery is to begin shortly and take place within the next two years.
Rheinmetall recently expanded its expertise in the field of infantry fire support with the purchase of the Spanish ammunition manufacturer Expal further strengthened. The offering includes a complete portfolio of mortar ammunition families in 120 millimeter, 81 millimeter and 60 millimeter calibers. It also includes fire control systems and mortar weapons, such as the 120-millimeter Ragnarök mortar weapon system and the 60-millimeter RSG60 mortar.
