Elbit Systems Germany has been selected by the Procurement Office of the German Federal Ministry of the Interior to supply XACT nv33 night vision goggles (NVG) to the German Federal Police following a competitive tendering process.
The federal police forces are facing new threat scenarios due to organized crime and international terrorism, among other things. New equipment in the form of modern electro-optical sensors is intended to support officers in the fight against crime in Germany. Action and reconnaissance capabilities at night are an essential requirement for this. The German armed forces had previously also opted for the XACT nv33 NVG. Several NATO countries, including the Netherlands, as well as countries such as Israel and Australia, also rely on the XACT product family.
Thomas Nützel, CEO of Elbit Systems Germany: “Following the establishment of our night vision systems with the German Armed Forces, we are very proud to be able to count the German Federal Police among our customers in the field of electro-optics. Our image intensifier goggles expand the capability profile of federal officers and support them in the fight against crime.” The XACT nv33 is a lightweight binocular image intensifier goggle. The systems can be mounted on a wide variety of operational helmets, used with a head mask or hand-held. The compact dimensions and minimal weight increase the deployment time for federal officers. The XACT nv33 can also be used to control vehicles and operate in complete darkness. The Federal Police’s range of capabilities is therefore even better geared towards future security requirements.
