Česká zbrojovka, a subsidiary of the Colt CZ Group, has signed a letter of intent with the Ukrainian Defense Industry (“Ukroboronprom”) for the assembly of CZ Bren 2 rifles in Ukraine. The aim is to equip the Ukrainian armed forces with a proven NATO standard weapon and thus improve their operational capability.

Jan Zajíc, CEO of Česká zbrojovka, emphasized: “We are honored to support Ukraine’s efforts to adopt NATO standard equipment and increase the capabilities of its defense industry. This first step towards a comprehensive technology transfer project for the CZ Bren 2 rifle is a direct consequence of the successful deployment of the rifle on the battlefield in Ukraine by the Ukrainian armed forces.” https://militaeraktuell.at/ungarn-saab-gripen-fuer-nato-ja-zu-schweden/ The CZ Bren 2 is a NATO-standard modular rifle with high compatibility with other NATO member countries. Its precision and caliber modularity make it a versatile weapon for military and police units. For example, CZ Bren 2 rifles are used by the army of the Czech Republic, the French National Gendarmerie Intervention Group (GIGN), the Portuguese army, the Polish Border Guard and the Ukrainian armed forces. The project for the technology transfer of CZ Bren 2 rifles to Ukraine was presented as one of the key initiatives at the First International Defense Industry Forum (DFNC1) in Kiev. The forum, which took place at the end of September 2023, was jointly organized by the Ukrainian Ministry of Strategic Industries, the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and attracted the participation of 252 companies from more than 30 countries.
