At the beginning of the year, the Colt CZ Group announced that it had acquired the ownership rights to the Mk 47 automatic grenade launcher from General Dynamics. With this purchase, the Colt CZ Group is expanding its range of corresponding weapon systems.

Ownership of the Mk 47 Advanced Lightweight Grenade Launcher System – including the fire control system – was acquired from General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS) via its subsidiary Colt.

Colt CZ Group CEO and Chairman of the Board, Jan Drahota, commented on the acquisition: “This acquisition expands Colt CZ Group’s offering in the larger and more sophisticated weapon systems and crew-served platforms segment. The acquisition of this high-performance weapon system is fully in line with our Group’s mission to provide innovative and high-quality products that our customers can rely on in any situation. It will also complement well the efforts of our subsidiary SwissAA in the production of 40-millimeter grenades.” https://militaeraktuell.at/kfor-soldaten-uebungen-im-einsatzgebiet/ The Mk 47 is a lightweight 40-millimeter automatic grenade launcher with an integrated fire control system that can be used as a standard automatic grenade launcher or as a programmable airburst launcher. The Mk 47 can be mounted on a tripod, vehicle, aircraft or watercraft. In addition, the Mk 47 can fire intelligent programmable 40-millimeter airburst grenades by in-bore or radio frequency programming, as well as various unguided point-launchers. The Mk 47 can fire all NATO-standard 40-millimeter high-velocity projectiles. It therefore offers high firepower against soft and lightly armored targets.
