This week, Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner visited Brumowski Air Base in Langenlebarn. The ground-breaking ceremony took place for the expansion of the infrastructure of the apron of hangar IV. This expansion is necessary due to the arrival of three additional S-70 Black Hawk aircraft. In addition, four apprentices, two young women and two young men, were honored for graduating with distinction or good results as aircraft technicians.

“With the arrival of three more S-70 Black Hawks, both infrastructural and personnel measures are required. Today’s ground-breaking ceremony for the expansion of the necessary parking areas with all technical facilities is an important step in this direction. I am also particularly pleased to be able to congratulate four young people today on their outstanding completion of their apprenticeships. And, above all, that they have committed themselves to continuing to make their acquired skills in the field of aircraft technology available to us,” said Defense Minister Tanner. https://militaeraktuell.at/der-black-ace-hawk-ist-gelandet/ The Austrian Armed Forces’ Black Hawk fleet is currently being upgraded and expanded. The Brumowski airbase in Langenlebarn is currently being prepared for the operation of the larger and more technically advanced Black Hawk squadron. The expansion of the infrastructure in the area of hangar IV will create the conditions for optimal operation of the S-70 Black Hawk. The Austrian Armed Forces have also been investing in high-quality training for their aircraft technicians for a long time. Four apprentices, two young women and two young men, have recently successfully completed this challenging and exciting training, three of them with excellent results and one with good results. All four will be joining the Langenlebarn maintenance depot in future and will contribute their specialist knowledge to helicopter maintenance.
