A few days ago, the 15th apprenticeship award ceremony took place at Fliegerwerft 2 in Zeltweg. 13 apprentices were released, seven of whom completed their training with distinction.

Since 2002, the Austrian Armed Forces have been offering the opportunity to learn 2 different apprenticeships at the Fliegerwerft. At present, apprentices are being trained as aircraft technicians, electronics technicians and operational logistics specialists. As part of the apprenticeship training, the knowledge and experience of the aircraft technology and logistics professionals is passed on to the next generation.

The basic mission is to ensure technical readiness, i.e. to have aircraft ready to fly, as well as to ensure that the Pilatus PC-7 and Eurofighter aircraft produce the required flight hours. In other words, as many aircraft as possible should be ready to fly in order to fulfill operational or training tasks. Fliegerwerft 2 has been recognized as a “state-awarded training company” and has been awarded the “berufundfamilie” quality mark by the Federal Chancellery – an award for family-friendly personnel policy.
