On November 27, experts from the Austrian Armed Forces demonstrated in a sports hall in Korneuburg what the coronavirus test lanes will look like for the planned mass testing of teaching staff at the beginning of December. The organization and procedure in and around such a test lane were presented – from registration to the antigen test. Depending on the requirements of the federal states, there may still be regional deviations in these procedures.

The organization and procedures in the planned test lanes were shown.

“Before the examination, the test subjects stay in individual waiting rooms,” explains Colonel Jürgen Schlechter, Commander of the NBC Defense Center in Korneuburg. This is intended to “rule out the possibility of infection in the waiting area”. The medical staff will then carry out antibody tests and the results should be available after around 15 minutes. When organizing the test lanes, the Austrian Armed Forces drew on its experience from recent months, such as the mass testing in Slovakia on 31 October and 1 November (Military News reported). An electronic system will ensure orderly procedures.
