After the many arrivals and training sessions yesterday morning in the run-up to the “Airpower 2024” there was a lot going on around Hinterstoisser airbase yesterday afternoon. The highlight was the landing of the F-35A at around 18:00.

In addition to the landing of the F-35A (-> Interview with F-35 pilot Melanie “Mach” Kluesner), the afternoon’s highlights also included arrivals and exercises by a Leonardo M-346 (-> The Austrian Armed Forces are considering an offer for Leonardo’s M-346FA) and a JAS-39C of the Hungarian Air Force. Also on display were an F/A-18C of the Finnish Air Force and an F-16 of the Greek Air Force. In addition, a C-295 belonging to the Spanish Patrulla Aguilar, a Eurofighter Typhoon of the German Air Force and a Slovakian Mi-17M.

Further training sessions are scheduled for today, in the morning Major General Gerfried Promberger will host an Air Chiefs press conference and in the afternoon the industrial exhibition will be officially opened. We will report back.
