During the visit to the Glock factory we were already allowed to shoot with it: The Glock Hunter Edition models come with more color and numerous functions. We have the details of the models, which will only be available in limited numbers.

The olive-colored Glocks immediately stand out. The Hunter Edition pistols are the first Glocks to be delivered from the factory with a Cerakotee coating – the Glock 19x was nPVD-coated. However, the models are also supplied with many special detail solutions that make for harmonious overall packages.

The special models G45 and G20 in the Hunter Edition.

Three variants of the Glock 45 and two of the Glock 20 are available, each in the Gen5, of course. Both models feature a reversible magazine catch, ambidextrous slide stop lever and a lanyard clip, which was already available on the G17 Gen 5 for the French army (-> We got our hands on the special model in Paris.) All variants come from the factory with steel sights, which are luminescent in the MOS configuration.

There is much more behind “Hunter” than just hunting use, as the configurations show in detail. All G45 models of the Hunter Edition have a thread on the barrel and the Racking Cover Plate, i.e. the cover plate that noticeably provides a better grip at the end of the slide and also keeps dirt out. The G45 will be available in the MOS version or with the new A-Cut COA combination (-> More details and our shooting experience here). If you opt for the Aimpoint combination, you also have the option of getting the GTL II, the new weapon light from Glock (-> Details about the Glock GTL II here). All G45 models come with a magazine extension, also in olive color – that’s quite something. So in this specification we are dealing with models that will probably also be found in the official sector.

The G20, in turn, will be available in two MOS variants, one with and one without GTL II. In live fire, the G20 remained relatively steady in the hand – despite the strong 10 mm Auto caliber – and the comparison with a G21 in a soft .45 ACP load was subjectively obvious. This is where the “hunter” comes to the fore after all: this configuration of the G20 offers everything you need for a catch shot.
