Acta Non Verba – actions, not words! This is the motto under which ANV produces the finest knives for everyday use (EDC = every day carry) and service in the Czech Republic. At the IWA 2024, we were able to see the quality of the knives for ourselves – and also found an unusual prototype.

What is immediately noticeable when you pick one up: the knives from ANV impress with their extremely robust character and yet feature both stylish and functional details. Regardless of whether it is a tactical knife or a folder, the lines are practical and the workmanship is solid. The knife of your choice can be put together from a large number of variants and options.

ANV itself is in constant contact with members of the military and security community. You can see this immediately on the knives. For example, the most striking feature of the M73 Konto comes from the armored chain of a T-72 M: An original bolt from the famous tank is mounted on the pommel of the knife! Other design features were also taken from the tank.

The M311 Spelter was designed in cooperation with specialized airborne troops – and tested under tough conditions worldwide. The heavily ribbed Micarta handle will please every glove wearer. A Kydex sheath is included with the military knives from ANV anyway.

At the IWA 2024, however, there was also a really unusual prototype at the ANV stand among the large military knives that amazed us. The background: Many specialists are already familiar with the M06 knife, known as “the claw”. Specially designed for the weak hand, this emergency knife made of Elmex steel is ready for immediate use with a quick draw from the Kydex sheath – very similar to the draw of a pistol.

The new prototype now has the same features, but is made entirely of fiberglass – including the blade (Wharncliffe style) – with steel fragments mixed in for detection during safety checks. If it weren’t for the sharp blade, the solid frame and the strong profiling, you might think you had air in your hand, that’s how light “the claw” is. Firm in the grip, it looks like a natural extension of the hand. This version is due to be released in April.

“It’s better to do than to talk” – we’re sticking to this motto and will soon be reporting on further tests with knives from Acta Non Verba.
