At the beginning of December, representatives of the Swiss procurement office armasuisse and Iveco signed a series procurement contract for the truck chassis of the ground-based long-range air defense system (Bodluv GR). This means that the Patriot system can now also be mounted on the trucks.

New series
The new MLT series from Iveco replaces the previous Trakker series. This new military series is based on a large number of series components from civilian truck generations and has been specially designed for military use. This ensures that logistics, such as spare parts supply and training, are based on the previously introduced Trakker series. The superstructures and the interfaces to the Patriot system are currently undergoing final testing so that the next implementation phase can begin. This includes the specific superstructures that are required for the Patriot system. https://militaeraktuell.at/ukrainische-luftangriffe-auf-die-krim/ Procurement of the new Patriot ground-based air defence system is on track
In autumn 2022, Switzerland announced the procurement of the Patriot ground-based air defense system announced. In addition to the five fire units, the procurement also includes a large number of vehicles and the connection of the system to the Swiss Air Force’s tactical data link. Delivery of the longer-range ground-based air defense system will begin in 2026. Like the new Patriot system also procured by Switzerland, the Patriot system is part of the Swiss Air Force. like the new F-35A fighter aircraft also procured by Switzerland from Lockheed-Martin is part of the “Air2030” program. The other components are the Radar and C2Air projects. These two projects concern the gradual replacement and renewal of the Swiss Air Force’s command and control system.
