On Friday, recruits from the Mountain Combat Center and the Army NCO Academy for the January 2021 enlistment cycle were sworn in at the Wallner Barracks in Saalfelden.

The swearing-in ceremony took place on a small scale and in private. However, Mayor Erich Rohrmoser did not miss the opportunity to be present at a pledge of allegiance in his municipality of Saalfelden. The commander of the Army NCO Academy, Brigadier Nikolaus Egger, opened the ceremony as the highest military official with the words: “A swearing-in ceremony is always something special. As a young soldier at the Mountain Combat Center and the Army NCO Academy, you are making an important contribution. Each and every one of them is important for fulfilling the mission of the Austrian Armed Forces and deserves the best possible training conditions.” Colonel Jörg Rodewald from the Mountain Combat Center regretted that no parents, acquaintances or friends of the recruits were able to attend the swearing-in ceremony.
