This year, Staff Battalion 3 celebrated its annual Tradition Day in private. At a ceremony in the Raab barracks in Mautern on November 22, the unit commemorated the battle at Pilica (Poland) in 1914.
The k.k. Rifle Regiment No. 21 successfully fought this battle against the Russians at the beginning of the First World War during the Battle of Krakow. For this reason, this day was designated as a day of honor for the regiment and also as a traditional day for Staff Battalion 3.
The ceremony began at 10.30 am. In his speech, battalion commander Colonel Georg Härtinger referred to virtues and values such as discipline, obedience, honesty and comradeship. “Because these are timeless and not subject to structural changes. They are a prerequisite for impeccable and successful mission fulfillment.” The battalion was able to welcome the commander of the 3rd Jägerbrigade (Brigade Schnelle Kräfte), Brigadier Christian Habersatter, as the highest military official in attendance. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of Staff Battalion 3 and the military values that apply both then and now.
