After the summer vacation, the participants of the 22nd general staff training started the third semester. Having already completed the training with (military) strategic and operational content, the focus is now on troop leadership and training in the specialist area of tactics.

The battle and the deployment of large and small units is planned on the basis of tactical principles. The focus is on combined arms combat – the interaction of the different branches of the armed forces, including infantry, tanks, mechanized infantry, artillery, engineers, reconnaissance, air support and ICT. https://militaeraktuell.at/abzeichenverleihung-der-22-generalstabsausbildung/ The highlight of the training is a joint exercise at corps level together with the German Bundeswehr in Hamburg. The tactics training is intended to prepare the course participants for future leadership positions in the troops as well as to demonstrate the basic principles that need to be taken into account as part of force planning and deployment.
