On October 28, the swearing-in ceremony for 185 recruits took place at the Montecuccoli barracks in Güssing. Around 750 members of the recruits to be sworn in as well as numerous guests of honor accepted the invitation.
The young soldiers joined Jägerbataillon 19 on October 4 and completed their basic training. The recruits come from the federal states of Vienna, Lower Austria, Styria and Burgenland. From Monday, 34 soldiers will undergo special training for “basic cyber military service” and then be deployed throughout Austria. The remaining soldiers will remain with Jäger Battalion 19 and will be trained in the Jäger branch of the armed forces.
An additional act in this ceremony was the award of the Burgenland Chamber of Labor as a “Partner of the Armed Forces”. In 2020, the partnership was able to look back on a successful 40-year anniversary, which could not be celebrated in this form due to the pandemic. The transition to partner of the Austrian Armed Forces and the presentation of a certificate confirmed the partnership between the President of the Burgenland Chamber of Labor and the Commander of Jäger Battalion 19. The Burgenland military music provided the customary accompaniment to the ceremony and the grand finale was the performance of the Great Austrian Tattoo.
