Next step in cadre candidate training. In the freezing cold, this week’s combat service competition is a final highlight before the final exam for 74 young soldiers from Jäger Battalion 17 in Strass.
Over the course of two days, a march of more than 40 kilometers must be covered, during which stations such as solving combat tasks, caring for a wounded person, applying nuclear, biological and chemical protection measures, overcoming obstacles on the combat training facility and also a test of courage must be mastered.
The day before, the candidates were able to prove their marksmanship in a competition with infantry weapons at the shooting range. The soldiers enjoyed the home-cooked dinner and the few hours of sleep in the forests of southern Styria.
