Saab has entered into a strategic partnership with Helsing, a defense company specializing in AI-based software technology. As part of the partnership, Helsing’s AI capabilities will be combined with Saab’s product range, and the Swedish defense company is also paying a total of 75 million euros for five percent of Helsing.

Helsing, founded in 2021, develops AI-based capabilities with a software-only approach, which has led to rapid market entry across Europe. The company has locations in Germany, the United Kingdom and France with a total of around 220 employees. The cooperation with Saab will range from electronic warfare and reconnaissance capabilities for fighter aircraft to further sensors and command and control applications in all domains. “The investment in Helsing is another milestone in Saab’s ambition to further strengthen our capabilities and continuously improve our portfolio to meet the future needs of our customers
