Polaris Government and Defense has received an order to supply its Dagor ultra-light tactical vehicle to Romania. More than 50 of these all-terrain vehicles will be delivered to Romania, a NATO-member, under the US government’s Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program. The contract also includes retrofitting and spare parts for the vehicles as well as operator training and maintenance, which will be carried out by Polaris in the country.
The Dagor is also used by the US armed forces, the Canadian Special Operations Forces Command (CANSOFCOM) and other European armed forces. The tactical vehicles offer excellent off-road mobility, payload and transport capability. They can transport troops and equipment with a total payload of up to 1,814 kilograms. The flexible design allows the vehicle to be quickly adapted to changing environments. The raised ride height also ensures better obstacle clearance and increased mobility off-road. Most of the vehicle’s components are commercially available, which makes it easier to operate, service and maintain. Dagor can also be transported in CH-47 and CH-53 helicopters. From there, the vehicle can be dropped with a parachute. The vehicle can also be transported on board the C-130 Hercules. The Romanian armed forces also already have Polaris MV850 all-terrain vehicles and MRZR turbodiesel ultra-light all-terrain vehicles.
