What about two weeks ago already announced by the Norwegian procurement authority Forsvarsmateriellhas now been confirmed by Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles (RMMV) has now officially confirmed: The company will deliver almost 300 TG3 trucks to Norway in the coming years at a cost of more than 150 million euros.
The corresponding contract was signed on May 31 in Oslo by the Director of the Norwegian Defense Materiel Agency (NDMA), Gro Jaere, and Michael Wittlinger, Chairman of the Management Board of Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles GmbH (RMMV). This is the largest quantity call-off to date under a framework agreement concluded between Rheinmetall, Norway and Sweden. The new package comprises various vehicle variants, including hook loader trucks, special vehicles with crane and hook loading systems as well as trailers and flatracks for the Norwegian armed forces. https://militaeraktuell.at/rheinmetall-asc-d-nl-beschaffen-caracal/ The new vehicles are primarily intended to increase the transport capacity of the logistics forces and expand the operational capabilities of the armed forces. With the order now placed, less than half of the required logistics vehicles are still under contract. Follow-up orders from Norway and other Scandinavian countries therefore appear likely.
“We see the follow-up order as clear evidence of the professional and cooperative partnership we have enjoyed over the past few years and the impressive performance of our products,” says Michael Wittlinger. “We see the fact that more and more NATO forces are opting for our TG and HX vehicles as an important step towards increased interoperability and resilience. We see it as our responsibility to make the best possible contribution with our systems.”

The roots of the Scandinavian logistics truck project go back to 2008. At the time, a project group from the Norwegian armed forces drew up a list of requirements for new military logistics vehicles. RMMV was awarded the contract in 2013. On March 31, 2014, the NDMA, together with its Swedish equivalent, the procurement authority FMV in Stockholm, then concluded a framework agreement with RMMV for the supply of military logistics vehicles until 2025. This is linked to a further agreement that includes the long-term provision of services by RMMV.
