ARX Robotics (formerly ARX Landsysteme GmbH) and Quantum Systems have agreed a strategic partnership. The aim is to utilize synergies and jointly provide the German Armed Forces and other allied armed forces with improved unmanned solutions tailored to the increasing automation of the battlefield.
Eliminating critical gaps together
The Vector drone from Quantum Systems, a combat-proven reconnaissance system, has been actively supporting the Ukrainian armed forces in their defensive campaign against Russia since the beginning of 2022 (-> Current news from the war in Ukraine). More than 200 Vector systems are currently in use in Ukraine, with a total of around 500 systems to be delivered this year. The Ukrainian General Staff has submitted a request for a further 800 individual Vector drones. Similarly, ARX Robotics is contributing to Ukraine’s defense efforts by supplying initial systems to the Ukrainian army for rigorous testing and deployment in special forces.
Driving technological progress
Both companies are aware, as stated in a recent press release, that it is “of crucial importance to actively promote and support the Bundeswehr in reassessing the need for technological progress”. A task that the two companies want to tackle together. The initiative includes joint targeted communication measures to facilitate the transfer of knowledge from the experiences in Ukraine to the Bundeswehr. In addition, the partnership aims to highlight the advantages of unmanned systems through joint demonstrations.
