The Officers’ Ball at the Schwarzenberg Barracks in Salzburg last weekend was truly a glittering event. Brigadier Peter Schinnerl, the military commander of Salzburg, opened the ball, which proved to be a meeting point for numerous guests of honor from politics, science, business and the military. Among the prominent guests were Governor Wilfried Haslauer and the President of the Salzburg State Parliament Brigitta Pallauf.
More than 750 guests were part of this unforgettable night at the Schwarzenberg barracks. The big band of the Militärmusik Salzburg provided the background music, which perfectly complemented the festive atmosphere. A special feast for the eyes was the “Magic of the Outfit”, in which the combination of white uniforms and colorful ball gowns in waltz time presented a fascinating picture.
The opening performances by the Young Ladies’ and Young Gentlemen’s Committee of the Seifert Dance School and the show performance by the drummers of the Salzburg Military Band were further highlights of the evening. The chefs of the Schwarzenberg barracks, supported by the students of the Klessheim Tourism School, took care of the guests’ physical well-being. Another highlight was the midnight interlude, during which the audience danced to the bat quadrille, which further emphasized the unique atmosphere of the ball. All in all, the Officers’ Ball combined tradition, elegance and a festive atmosphere, making it an important and unforgettable social event in Salzburg.
