As the Australian Department of Defense announced in a recent press release Lockheed Martin has been selected as the strategic partner for the so-called AIR6500 Phase 1 (AIR6500-1).

As part of AIR6500-1, the Australian Defence Force (ADF) is to be equipped with a Joint Air Battle Management System (JABMS), which is to form the core of the ADF’s future Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD). According to the Australian Department of Defense, this system will “provide greater situational awareness and defense against increasingly advanced air and missile threats and improve interoperability with the United States and allied partners”.
