The Ministry of Defense of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Milrem Robotics have signed a contract for the delivery of 20 tracked autonomous combat vehicles (RCVs) and 40 unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) of the THeMIS type.
Under the contract, Milrem Robotics will lead an experimentation and testing program to integrate unmanned ground systems into the UAE Armed Forces’ arsenal. The aim is to enhance the armed forces’ combat capabilities through the use of THeMIS UGVs and trackable RCVs, both equipped with autonomy features, third-party payloads and advanced communication solutions. https://militaeraktuell.at/embraer-first-flight-for-hungary-first-c-390m/ Kuldar Väärsi, CEO of Milrem Robotics, said: “Initiating the world’s largest combat robotics program with the UAE Ministry of Defense not only demonstrates the competitive advantage of our solutions, but also underlines the strategic value of integrating advanced robotic systems into the force structure, enhancing its combat capabilities and operational efficiency.” The contract includes the delivery of tracked RCVs with 30-millimeter MK44 cannons, THeMIS Combat units equipped with 30-millimeter M230LF remote weapon stations and indirect fire systems, and THeMIS Observe units with radar and camera systems, including gunshot detection capability. Milrem Robotics will also provide personnel training and support for the new systems.
