The arrival of the F-35 at the Skrydstrup base was celebrated with a ceremony. During this ceremony Lockheed Martin officially handed over the certificate of ownership for the Danish F-35 aircraft to the Danish Ministry of Defense. The event was attended by more than 450 representatives from the Danish and allied governments, the military and industry. In addition, more than 10,000 interested people attended the Royal Danish Air Force’s open day.
“The arrival of the first F-35 fighter aircraft in Denmark is a historic event for the Danish Ministry of Defense and the Royal Danish Air Force. To date, Denmark has taken delivery of ten F-35s, six of which are still stationed in Arizona. Danish pilots and maintenance personnel are being trained there. Denmark plans to purchase a total of 27 F-35 aircraft.
