Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner awarded radio presenter Robert Kratky the “Military Recognition Medal” on 22 February. Minister Tanner thanked the radio presenter and private in the reserves for his commitment and dedication to public relations work, which he has shown for the Armed Forces in two video productions.
“Their enthusiastic commitment over the past four years shows how much they appreciate the Austrian Armed Forces and its soldiers. Through their appearances in our video series, they have not only gotten to know the diversity of the Austrian Armed Forces, but have also made it known to the public. With this award, we want to appreciate their commitment, which was certainly physically and mentally challenging at times, and thank them for their great service to the Austrian Armed Forces,” said Minister Klaudia Tanner in recognition of their achievements.
“In the course of filming, I realized that the Austrian Armed Forces have to keep people and technology on constant standby, not only when something happens, but also so that nothing happens. I have great respect for that,” says Robert Kratky. In total, more than 33 videos were produced in collaboration with the dedicated presenter, showing the Austrian Armed Forces and its soldiers in all their facets. The “Tagwache mit Kratky” and “Heer g’schaut” formats were also able to prove themselves in a professional manner in the media landscape: “Tagwache mit Kratky” alone recorded over 4.3 million views on Facebook and over 1.6 million views on YouTube. The most successful Bundesheer video series was awarded gold at the “Austria Video Award” in 2019 and silver at the “Best of Content Marketing” in Hamburg and the “German Brand Award” in 2020. Private Robert Kratky’s extraordinary commitment to the Austrian Armed Forces in these productions contributed significantly to the outstanding and professional quality of the video series.
