The soldiers of the Klagenfurt 25th Jäger Battalion of the 7th Jäger Brigade (-> 7th Jägerbrigade becomes Jägerbrigade Jagdkampf) carried out intensive training in the Hirt area last week to learn the basics of airmobile operations. Around 200 soldiers with an enlistment date of October 2024 took part in the training, supported by four S-70 Black Hawk and Agusta Bell 212 helicopters.
The air transport training initially focused on getting to know the helicopters and how to mount and dismount them safely. This was followed by practical exercises, such as briefing the helicopters, approaching them and getting on and off quickly.
“The training begins with teaching the basics of safe boarding and disembarking. This is followed by night landing training, followed by the implementation of a combat task,” explained Major Dieter Unterassinger, Deputy Commander of Jäger Battalion 25.
