The Brazilian Army has signed a contract with Iveco Defense Vehicles (IDV) via the Army Production Directorate for the delivery of 420 LMV-BR 2 (Light Multirole Vehicle) within a time frame of ten years. The first units are to be delivered in two years, i.e. in 2026.

This new order of LMV-BR 2 vehicles, known in Brazil as Guaicurus, consists of two different variants. The first variant is equipped with a manual weapon system, the second with an RCWS weapon system. In addition, all vehicles are equipped with a C2 – Command and Control – system. The 420 units of the Guaicurus will be manufactured locally at the IDV plant in Sete Lagoas. https://militaeraktuell.at/ruag-uebernimmt-endmontage-von-schweizer-f-35/ The signing of this ten-year contract for LMV-BR 2 vehicles represents a further expansion of the partnership between the Brazilian Army and IDV. In the past, the two parties have already worked together on the delivery of the Guarani 6×6 amphibious armored vehicle and also on the delivery of several LMV-BR units. Over 700 Guarani and 32 LMV-BRs were delivered to the Brazilian army. IDV has been working continuously on further developments since the market launch of the light multi-purpose vehicle (LMV). The company also benefits from the experience of its users.
