GMH Gruppe presented CO2-reduced steel for the decarbonization of the defence industry for the first time at Eurosatory in Preis.

The company’s drop-forged products, which are produced in electric furnaces, reduce emissions (Scope 1 and 2) by 80 percent compared to conventional blast furnace processes, according to a press release from the German group. In addition, almost 100 percent scrap metal is used in production. https://militaeraktuell.at/auftakt-zu-miliz-trifft-wirtschaft-in-wien/ “We are convinced that the freedom, security and stability of Germany and the European Union also depend on investments in defense,” says Alexander Becker, CEO of GMH Gruppe. “And as in all other industries, decarbonization plays an important role in the defence industry. We are ready to produce CO2-reduced steel products to support this mission.” GMH Gruppe offers a wide range of products, from hot-rolled pre-products to various forging techniques and validated molds, tailored to the stringent requirements of the defense sector. “The company’s extensive experience and high level of vertical integration enable the technical validation of the required qualities, particularly in the casting sector, in accordance with the standards of the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support,” the press release continues.
