The German Federal Office of Procurement and Logistics (BAAINBw) has selected Saab’s Arexis sensor suite as the preferred solution for the Eurofighter electronic warfare (EW) variants – but a contract has yet to be signed.

Last year, German officials declared the intention to enable 15 German Air Force Eurofighters for EW missions. The decision in favor of Saab’s Arexis follows the outcome of a recent market study conducted by BAAINBw, which evaluated the products of European and international EW vendors, taking into account aspects such as performance, integration and certification path. https://militaeraktuell.at/rheinmetall-asc-d-nl-beschaffen-caracal/ “We welcome this decision and look forward to taking the next steps. Arexis is the perfect solution for the German electronic warfare requirements for the Eurofighter,” says Anders Sjöberg, Head of Saab Germany. Saab’s offer envisages that the company will carry out much of the work at its site in Bavaria together with its artificial intelligence partner, Helsing. Saab’s modular EW solution Arexis uses advanced hardware and software, including sophisticated AI algorithms, to remain superior in complex electromagnetic environments.
