The participants of the 22nd General Staff Training Course took part in the corps exercise “Determined Effort 22” at the Bundeswehr Command and Staff College in Hamburg over the past few days. Together with participants from the German General Staff Course, they practiced the cooperation of 13 nations in a multinational staff.

As corps commander and senior mentor, General in Ruhe Van Loon gave the briefings. The exercise participants benefited from the many years of practical experience of the former commander of the 1st German-Dutch Corps. https://militaeraktuell.at/generalstabsausbildung-vom-hoersaal-ins-gebirge/ During their stay in Hamburg, they also visited the tank museum in Munster and the naval base in Eckernförde. A German Navy Class 212 submarine was also on display. The deployment to international exercises is an essential core element of general staff training. In particular, getting to know different perspectives on tactical problems is of great value to the participants. This exercise was therefore certainly one of the highlights of the tactical training, which will conclude in the coming weeks with the topic of stabilization and deployment in urban environments.
