With a total of three contracts, the German Armed Forces Procurement Office Bundeswehr to manufacture and supply new trailers and swap bodies for the German armed forces. The three framework contracts were previously approved by the Budget Committee of the German Bundestag.

Both the total of up to 9,700 two- and four-wheel trailers and the up to 4,000 standard swap-body platforms are a so-called supplementary procurement to cover the Bundeswehr’s further logistical requirements. https://militaeraktuell.at/fluglotsen-herrscher-ueber-rollfeld-luftraum/ The up to 4,600 off-road two-wheel trailers of 3.5 tons are carrier platforms for transporting standardized load carriers (10-foot ISO containers or 10-foot swap-body platforms). These load carriers can accommodate various sets of equipment or general cargo and replace the previous two-wheeled trailers of the 1 ton and 1.5 ton classes. Up to 5,100 of the partially militarized 12.5-tonne four-wheel trailers can be ordered via the framework agreement that has now been concluded. They are also intended as a carrier platform for transporting standardized load carriers (10 or 20-foot ISO containers as well as 10, 15 and 20-foot swap bodies). These load carriers can carry various sets of equipment or general cargo and replace the previous 4-wheel and 6-wheel trailers in the 4 ton, 7 ton and 10 ton classes.

The standard 20-foot swap bodies have also already been introduced in the Bundeswehr. Delivery of the first trailers, both two- and four-wheelers, is already scheduled for this month. The first 800 or so swap-body platforms are to be delivered by mid-November 2025.
