ESG Elektroniksystem- und Logistik-GmbH has been awarded a contract for the procurement of simulators for the aptitude test for the aviation service and flight management service of the German Armed Forces received. These will be used for phase III of the aptitude test for aircraft pilots.

The Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw) has concluded a corresponding procurement contract with ESG for a total of four systems. The simulators will be delivered as early as 2024. In Phase III, the applicants for the aviation service complete a series of different flight tasks on a psychological test device based on a flight simulator as part of a flight psychology learning and work test within a week of testing. On the one hand, the structure of the tasks reflects flight tasks that are typical in flight training; on the other hand, tasks that are typical for use and mission-related tasks are tested. https://militaeraktuell.at/lockheed-erste-zwei-f-16-block-70-fuer-die-slowakei/ ESG’s scope of services includes the delivery of replica cockpits of an aircraft, various consoles and corresponding documentation for the preparation and follow-up of the selection procedures. ESG is also responsible for developing the necessary software and installing and integrating it. The procurement of the simulators will replace the Bundeswehr’s existing systems in Fürstenfeldbruck, which were previously used by the Bundeswehr for aptitude testing. In future, the entire aptitude test will be centralized in Cologne. Experience to date has shown that simulation-based selection increases the efficiency and effectiveness of pilot training.
