The two companies Bell Textron and Leonardo have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore cooperation opportunities in the tilt rotor sector.
Both companies are active in the development, manufacture and support of rotorcraft for civil and military applications and have a decades-long history of collaboration in both conventional helicopters and tiltrotor technology. The now-agreed collaboration begins with the NATO Next Generation Rotorcraft Capability (NGRC) Concept Study 5, in which Leonardo is taking the lead on a tiltrotor architecture proposal, supported by Bell. https://militaeraktuell.at/hubschrauberpiloten-trainieren-flugmanoever/ “This collaboration between Bell and Leonardo reflects our shared vision that the next generation of rotorcraft will be influenced by the speed, range and maneuverability that only tiltrotor technology can provide,” said Lisa Atherton, president and CEO of Bell. Gian Piero Cutillo, Managing Director of Leonardo Helicopters, added: “Leonardo has always strongly supported tiltrotor technologies to meet the evolving needs of rotorcraft, and even more so as new needs emerge in the market.”
