BAE Systems has signed a contract with the Swedish Defense Materiel Administration (FMV) for new CV9035 MkIIIC vehicles and associated integrated logistic support. The new infantry fighting vehicles are intended as a replacement for the vehicles supplied by Sweden to Ukraine (-> current news from the Ukraine war) delivered by Sweden. In addition, the Swedish government is procuring further new CV90 vehicles to enhance Ukraine’s capabilities.

Tommy Gustafsson-Rask, Managing Director of BAE Systems Hägglunds, the designer and manufacturer of the CV90, said: “These new CV9035 MkIIICs will enhance the capabilities of both the Swedish and Ukrainian armed forces, providing crews with improved combat awareness, mobility, protection and penetration.” https://militaeraktuell.at/rheinmetall-grossauftrag-fuer-geschuetzrohre/ The CV9035 MkIIIC will be fitted with a new turret equipped with a 35-millimeter Bushmaster automatic cannon – the Swedish Armed Forces’ existing CV90 fleet has 40-millimeter Bofors automatic cannons. It also offers ergonomic improvements that benefit the vehicle crew. The vehicle is based on years of battle-tested experience, improvements and data collection by the CV90 User Club, which is made up of the nations that operate CV90 fleets themselves. The CV90 infantry fighting vehicle can integrate a wide range of weapon systems and offers land forces different capabilities to achieve their objectives. The CV90 has now been selected by ten European countries, eight of which are members of NATO. It has also been deployed in Afghanistan, Ukraine and Liberia.
