BAE Systems and Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) want to jointly launch the BvS10 all-terrain vehicle, which has also been introduced to the armed forces, on the Indian market. The two companies have signed a license and manufacturing agreement to offer the BvS10 as an all-terrain vehicle (AATV) for the Indian armed forces.
Under the agreement, L&T will take the lead role in the Indian market with the support of BAE Systems Hägglunds, the Swedish manufacturer of the BvS10 family of vehicles. BAE Systems and L&T have further developed the BvS10 into the BvS10 Sindhu version to meet the requirements of the Indian armed forces. https://militaeraktuell.at/bundeswehr-und-bundesheer-ueben-luftlandeoperation/ The design of the BvS10 enables high maneuverability in different terrains, including snow, ice, rocks, sand, mud, swamps and steep mountainous terrain. Thanks to its amphibious characteristics, the vehicle can also float in flooded areas or coastal waters. It can deliver personnel and supplies as well as be used for fire support. The BvS10, which was also on display at the DSEI in London in September (see picture below), also has an MSHORAD configuration (Mobile Short Range Air Defense System).
The modular design makes it possible to reconfigure the BvS10 for different missions. It can be supplied in several variants covering personnel transport, command and control, medical services, vehicle repair and recovery, logistical support, situational awareness and vehicle-mounted lethality and support weapons.
