In April Airbus Defense & Space presented the first of two A400M transport aircraft for Kazakhstan at its plant in San Pablo near Seville, Spain, and delivery has now already taken place.
As announced by the Ministry of Defense of the Central Asian country, Defense Minister Ruslan Zhaksylykov officially took delivery of the aircraft (production number MSN139) in Almaty.

The order was placed in 2021, Kazakhstan is the second export customer outside the European consortium after Malaysia and the ninth customer of the wide-body turboprop, which only “came of age” – with much delay – in 2009 (-> The A400M continues to struggle with problems). A total of 178 aircraft have been ordered so far, 128 of which have been delivered to Germany, France, Spain, England, Turkey, Belgium, Luxembourg, Malaysia and Kazakhstan. Indonesia is due to receive the first of two aircraft in 2026. https://militaeraktuell.at/2025-bundesheer-plant-33-auslandsuebungen/ The full contract volume with Kazakhstan was not disclosed, but the list price (excluding the individual country package) is likely to be around 130 million euros. Incidentally, eight smaller C295N transport aircraft were also delivered to Kazakhstan from the plant near Seville. The high-wing aircraft comes with four turboprop engines with eight-blade rotors, is equipped with a pressurized cabin and a loading ramp at the rear and can transport loads of up to 37 tonnes in a 17.7 metre long, 4 metre wide and 3.85 metre high cargo hold. The range with a payload of 20 tons is around 6,400 kilometers.
