The Czech company ERA a.s. has delivered the DPET passive surveillance system to the Czech armed forces. DPET (Deployable Passive ESM Tracker) is the deployable version of the latest generation Vera NG system, developed and designed for the specific needs of the Czech armed forces. It will replace the previous generation Vera S/M, which has been in service since 1996.

Passive surveillance systems (PSS) have a long tradition in the Czech army. The current system is based on research and development work dating back to the 1960s. DPET (in NATO terminology Deployable Passive Electronic Support Measures Tracker) is based on the latest generation of passive ESM tracker Vera-NG. https://militaeraktuell.at/so-will-das-bundesheer-verteidigungsfaehig-werden/ Vera-NG is one of the most advanced passive surveillance systems and is suitable for various use cases – air surveillance, ground-based air defense and electronic warfare. It was developed for the detection, localization, tracking and identification of air, ground and sea targets as well as for the analysis of pulse and continuous wave signals and uses the principle of multilateration according to the Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA) principle. The system emits no electromagnetic energy and is therefore invisible to the enemy.
