At the European Luge Championships in Innsbruck, the army athletes of the Austrian Armed Forces showed impressive performances. Corporal Madeleine Egle won gold in the women’s singles competition, platoon leader Thomas Steu and platoon leader Wolfgang Kindl also secured the gold medal in the men’s doubles, while platoon leader Jonas Müller also won gold and platoon leader Nico Gleischer silver in the men’s singles.
The gold medal in the team relay went to platoon leader Jonas Müller, corporal Madeleine Egle and platoon leaders Wolfgang Kindl with Thomas Steu as well as privates Selina Egle and Lara Kipp. https://militaeraktuell.at/bae-systems-upgrade-fuer-australische-navy/ Federal Minister Klaudia Tanner congratulated the successful athletes: “I am incredibly proud of our army athletes. They have shown outstanding performances and are a role model for us all. Congratulations on these impressive successes.” The Army Sports Center has been promoting Austrian competitive sport with its ten Army Sports Centers since 1962. Every year, up to 495 people, 20 of them in disabled sports, are part of the Army Sports support program. Army sport traditionally provides numerous participants in major sporting events such as the Olympic Games, European and World Championships. They were once again able to achieve numerous successes and medals for Austria.
